Most models are very much comfortable with being in front of the camera, posing dancing, smiling, being fierce…but I said “ Nah! I have to know what photographers are seeing from the other end.”, because I have been shot in ways that are not so flattering for me. I learned photography from a photographer friend who would only teach me if I learned to shoot manual FIRST!

“I shoot how I like to be shot. Period!’. High noon light, harsh shadows, sharp angles, warped lenses, bold solid colors, or crisp black and white are what moves my soul. I love to help a model feel comfortable and open so they’re able to perform in front of the camera and do the job they came to do AND there aren’t enough female photographers in the game, so why not?

I had to know how to operate a camera because I wanted to be able to build a relationship with photographers and actually know what I’m talking about and it gives me an advantage across the productive board. Models, photographers…everybody.
